To anyone interested:
I requested more information on Security,Java vs Client Server, how their technology differs as cpmpared to the others (I specifically Mentioned Cryptologic) Here is the response i received. I will also add that The response came within 2 hours.
Dear Mr. Peterson:
Thank you, again, for taking an interest in PlaStar.
We have chosen Java as a strategic technology, due to its omnipresence on the net and the ease of application and use (from the user's perspective).
Our implementation of Client/Server technology is probably one of the best on the market, utilizing a scheme where only the user interface sits on the client -- your PC -- and the brains -- the dealer -- sits on the server, behing our firewalls. This means our security is superior to that of our competitors: If a smart hacker is to attack a system, he will surely disassemble downloaded code from which something can be learned, versus taking apart our Java code, from which nothing can be learned. We can infact publish our code and it would serve no purpose -- all dealing, account handling, etc, sits on our servers to which no public link exists.
We chose Java as our Client platform because of the instant, no install, no upgrade, gratification our users will get. We chose Sun and C for our Server platform because of the performance, robustness and scalability required to run a data transaction processing centre. Most of our competitors run their servers on PCs. I wish them luck. Let's see what happens, if they're lucky enough, when they get hit with millions of transactions per hour/minute/second.
There are no limits on application of Aplet technology when combined with powerful Client/Server architectures.
We implemented our own security, thus we have no concerns for whatever the current media misunderstanding may be about. Our auditors will affirm that we are bulletproof, and our regulators will make sure we stay that way.
Thanks again for you interest,
