However, when Heatheon reaches a "critical mass", things will change drastically. According to Bob Metcalfe -- the inventor of Ethernet and founder of 3Com -- *The Power of a network equals the square of the number of users connected to the network.* A good example is the telephone system. When few people used telephone, you didn't have a lot use of the system to talk to anybody. But when everyone is connected, you have to have one. A newer example is the Internet and Email. Still, cellular phone is doing the same. When everyone around you has a cell phone in hand, you probably want to have one, too.
