[ USRX/TI ] USRX is going to have a 56K battle on their hands very soon. They realize that once the LU 56K software comes out, X2 will have a difficult time. The LU solution will allow 45K symmetrical operation and true 56K downstream.. not the 53K max that USRX has implemented. USRXs strategy is to wrap ADSL with the X2 56k solution in hopes of convincing us this is the superior solution. X2 by itself isn't superior so lets give our customers a migration path out of X2.

I'm not expecting the USRX/TI solution to interoperate with other flavors of DMT. They want a proprietary solution to lock in their existing customer base. They have the most to loss going with a standard solution. Interoperability will hopefully come by the year 2000.
