You make some interesting points that I think need to be discussed or clarified.

To which "open market" decisions do you refer? Despite some rumblings and nebulous predictions, the bottom line is that the ETSI has not opened up Europe to CDMA yet. If you refer to WCDMA in Europe, you can be assured that every effort will be made to preclude the payment of any royalties to the Q. Contrary to whatever rhetoric you may hear, Europe is not an open market. Correction: It is an open market, provided the technology is GSM. OmniTracs and SnapTrac are cosmetic bones to the Q dog.

Who can say with any certainty what will happen in China? It is not an open market; it is a politically controlled not market-driven economy. I'm from Missouri when it comes to China.

Brazil? I don't see any reason for joy.
