Yesterday (6/20), schaeffersresearch.com reported unusually high out-of-the-money call activities (January 01, strike 30 - very, very aggressive) for GSTRF. In fact, this option was the most active option on the Pacific Exchange.

Globalstar Telecommunications (GSTRF - 6-29/64) is a communications partnership led by Loral Space & Communications (LOR - 6-9/16). The equity declined by nearly four percent today, encountering stingy overhead resistance from its downtrending 10-day moving average. The shares are also below all of their significant intermediate-term and long-term moving averages. On the options front this afternoon, 18,000 contracts traded on the deep-out-of-the-money January 30 call. This activity came in two blocks of 9,000 contracts that transacted between the bid and the ask prices, making the investors? intentions difficult to determine. However, this volume could result in liquidations, as open interest on the option stands at 23,017 contracts. The option wrapped up today?s trading as easily the most-active call contract on the Pacific Exchange.

This observation did catch my attention, but I failed to take advantage of it.

Hmmm.....someone knew about the venture announcement ahead of time. Looks like a classic case of "front running".
