Hello Eric,

I was wondering if you could answer the following question posted by Art Bechhoefer since this is something I, too, have been trying to understand:

"Re: Brazil choosing 1800 mhz instead of 1900 mhz. Why does this exclude CDMA. Are certain frequencies designated GSM only or CDMA only? Why would it be difficult to make a CDMA system work on 1800 mhz?"

Also, what is your opinion regarding 1900mhz being reserved for 3G? Does this mean that both DS-CDMA and MC-CDMA can be used in this spectrum or only DS? What spectrum will current CDMA carriers in Brazil use when they upgrade to CDMA2000?

Thanks

Aryl
