Ausdauer: I've been lurking but from a distance. I took a bunch of profits some time back but still have plenty of shares. I think the short term play is good for Sandisk, but to me any long term play is a clear winner (yes - a bold statement) and a safe way to go. Sandisk has one of the highest volatility ratings I'm aware of among the stocks I follow.

Remember that U.S. patents don't provide any protection outside the U.S., but Sandisk has several foreign patent filings that are quite useful (including PCT applications). I'm not sure how good their coverage is in Japan. There will always be some areas where their protection is not so good, like Korea. When I was deep into the art several years ago I came away thinking that Sandisk was pretty solid all over the world, especially in all the markets that matter (U.S., Europe,).

The outcome of the Lexar case was no surprise to me.

Congrats to all here who have done so well with Sandisk.
