I probably would have ignored it on the Fishing thread. . . and no I have never had anyone "thrown off" my thread. . . though I am certain that in the few cases where I have asked SIJill to monitor conversations here, she has seen fit to toss violators into jail. . . I believe SI respects the tone of our thread. . . so disruptions are easier to spot. Now that everyone is afraid to post here. . . . .let me elaborate. . . Over the past few weeks. . there has been an influx of daytraders posting their every move on certain stocks. . . that is the only area we need to trim back. Questions are welcome. . . Information is welcome. . . News is welcome. . . Insight is MOST welcome. . . Opinions are welcome. . . A well thought out hypothesis that could lead to a winning play is what we live for. . . Cynnical eyes are welcome. . . Interesting stories about the world are welcome. . .even if they are off-topic. . Encouragement of others is welcome. . . Education of all sorts [especially about trading] is welcome. . . Potential Position trades, swing trades, daytrades, short-sells or long-term investments should be so indicated!! Due Diligence is welcome. . .provided it is accompanied by the reasons that you like the stock. . .in your own words. Market Analysis, economic discussion or any subject that impacts the markets [like fuel prices] are all welcome. . . TA and FA are always welcome. . . That about covers it. . . . many folks drop me a PM to make sure a subject is appropriate. . . I nearly always say yes. . . but appreciate the gesture.
