Huh? I write convuluted sentences but am having a real tough time with your second sentence. Please re-word ... can't figure it out. Regarding your adding up of the points.. okay. I think though that Itanium will have a tough time with other 4 processor IA32 boxes in that timeframe (Nov-Dec 2000). If the Itanium is $4000 for 800 MHz and 4 MB Cache and performs equivalent to $1200 dollars worth of IA32 parts, you have a solution begging for a problem (i.e. Itanium 4 processor can handle 16 Gigs of memory, large memories and we know that all major DB vendors of 32-bit "hacks" to hide the memory limitations, etc.) We shall see.
