Sun has plenty of important allies. What the heck are you talking about? I'm a fan of Microsoft too, but we shouldn't let it cloud reality. Sun makes highly scaleable 64bit, SMP capable RISC boxes. They are many, many, many times faster than anything Wintel can muster at this stage of the game. There is a very large development community that support the Sun platofrm.
