International Rectifier (IRF: news, msgs) is zooming 5 5/8, or 11.9 percent, higher to 55 1/8. The Los Angeles, Calif., provider of power management products unveiled a new product line of chips that reduce electricity consumption in a number of home appliances and industrial motors. International Rectifier said Electrolux, Frigidaire, and other major appliance manufacturers plan to begin using its new generation of chips in their appliances over the next 12 months. >>
