I don't follow the INTC thread any more. I believe Intel is a fine company but possibly a little overvalued. Certainly great stock pickers and you can do well by following them into companies they invest in.

Funny thing about the Intel-Rambus relationship is that Rambus never screwed up. The Rambus products work great. It was the early Intel chipsets and then the Intel MTH SDRAM interface that caused probs for Rambus by delaying the market for RDRAM.

I trust Intel management for their honesty and perseverance. They committed themselves to Rambus memory. When the Rambus detractors were saying how DDR RAM was going to kill Rambus, Intel remained quiet. Most took that to mean a lack of support. I took it to mean no change in stance and it was a good opportunity to load up. Then when Pat Gelsinger said DDR was "too little too late and it doesn't work", RMBS got its major run earlier this year. The detractors started afresh and the stock dropped back 2/3 (I was out) and I got to make my fortune for the third time in my investing life.

I am holding RMBS today and hoping for a double from here to reach Edelstone's 200 target. However, the temptation to buy SNDK or GBT or ECIL, or to short AMD or MU may get me out of RMBS before that target is reached.
