[USR's choices]

<<<Ironically, U.S. Robotics has chosen the discrete-multitone (DMT) line code developed by Aware Inc. as its first
rate-adaptive DSL service offering. Though Aware worked with Analog Devices Inc. in its early chip sets, U.S. Robotics
has elected to license the Aware DMT and port it to TI DSP architectures. >>>

I find it even more ironic that USR would choose Aware over AMTX considering TI-USR-Amati worked closely on the DSL solution for so many months leading many, including Oppenheimer's then telecommunications analyst, Steve Levy, to hint publically that there would be a formal co-development deal between AMTX and USRX.

Now it looks as though Aware will put its DMT on TI's plain vanilla DSP.

I'll worry when they get it up and running and prove to the world it works.

In the meantime I'll watch the players make their moves, eyes not on the board but on each other.

Cheers!
