I don't think so. There is a difference between writing from a position of critical scholarship as opposed to axe-grinding. I know the difference and so do the writers! There have been many 'Brinker issues' actively debated here in a context of intellectual integrity.

You know when you really want to test an idea or really push on a thread of logic. And you (not you personally, I am referring to all of us) know when you simply want to use your intellect to get someone but try to decorate your intention with coyness. As I wrote earlier, it is boring. And, there are a lot of places where that type of discourse is permitted and nurtured. This does not have to be one of those places.
