'O Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the TRUTH.'...Received ye the Spirit by works of the law, or by the hearing of faith"
In post #5616 of the ASK GOD THREAD, SHALOM says: "... I can tell you that all of the items that God commanded us not to eat back then....applies even now...It doesen't take a rocket scientist ....or a Biblical scholar to know the terrible effects of eating the foods that God commanded us not to eat...."
What Shalom is saying here is that, if we do not follow the Levitical food laws, we will be cursed. The curse comes as a consequence of sin. So, in effect, Shalom is saying that if we disobey the Levitical laws we are sinning and will be cursed with sickness. In other words, our righteousness depends on the levitical laws.
Lets go to Galatians and see what the Holy Spirit says about how we become righteous or without sin. In Galatians 3:6-9, the Holy Spirit tells us that Abraham received his righteousness by faith and " they that are of faith are the children of Abraham"
Then the Holy Spirit tells us in Gal. 3:10 "For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them."
Shalom's comments would put you back under the law If he succeeds, then you will have abandoned your righteousness by Faith and have placed yourself under a law that you cannot follow for your righteousness and abandoned the righteousness of faith through Christ. I beg you not to be deceived by this cunning false teaching. If you are a Christian, you have received your righteousness through the blood of Christ. Gal. 3:13 CHRIST HAS REDEEMED US FROM THE CURSE OF THE LAW, BEING MADE A CURSE FOR US.... THAT YOU MIGHT RECEIVE THE THE PROMISES OF THE SPIRIT THROUGH FAITH.
If you put yourselves under Shalom's and others teachings about the levitical foods laws, you have removed yourself from righteousness by faith and put yourself under the curse of the law.
Read the entire book of Galatians and the fifteenth chapter of Acts. This issue was resolved in the first century by the Holy Spirit through the Apostles. The Christian Church--the Body of Christ- has always taught that Christians are not under the levitical laws for any kind of righteousness. Our righteousness is of Christ. False prophets and false teachers have arisen in these latter days to deceive. God has warned you in the Scriptures and now is warning you again. ------------------------------- If a Christian wants to follow the levitical laws, it is not a sin to do so. You must not, however, put yourself under these laws as a source of righteousness or as an obligation from God. A statement such as Shalom's " I can tell you that all of the items that God commanded us not to eat back then...applies even now... is an attempt to put you under the law as an obligation for righteousness. If you do not follow them, then you will get sick---sin. |
