How do I best make use of the earnings plays that are in the customized calendar?

Is it the idea that entries on the earnings play calendar are mostly:

- Opportunities for appreciation between when they are added to the calendar up to just before the earnings date?
- Or that there?s just a higher chance for some sort of positive/negative movement than for others and to be on the look out for movement?
- Or are the listings in the calendar mainly a ?heads up? on what may eventually be called out in a future Watch List between then and the earnings date? (ie act early if you want to but will be listed in the Watch List and/or called out on the SI thread.)

When should one make use of and act on the information in the earnings calendar? As soon as something is added to the calendar? What kind of action should one take when a new stock is added to the calendar? (Again ? it the calendar just a heads up and one should look for a call in a WL or on the SI thread to take action or is the idea that you take action as soon as it?s been added to the calendar?)

Thanks so much for any help, pointers and information you can provide!

- David
