I find the defrag program supplied 'free' with windows is worth its cost -- Useless.
Norton's defgrag defrags, sorts, checks for errors, re-orders, cleans 'empty' space, and even plays music and displays pretty graphics while it's working.
I doubt I'd bother over 5% fragmentation, but if your report is 5% DEfragmentation, does that imply 95% is fragmented?
To be honest, my new system goes so fast I can't notice any speed improvement, but on my old, slower system, the difference was dramatic. Both systems make less 'disk noise' when defraged.
