Doug, i know - GATA tries to induce some of the big pockets, hedge funds, whoever, to go and take the shorts on. the big problem (and why it has imo not happened yet) is that such an undertaking would definitely meet with official intervention...be it in the form of stepped up CB gold sales, or simply a phone call from the right people. i think what's needed is for the dam to develop so many cracks at once, that none of this helps anymore, or alternatively that other problems become more important. if you had the money, would you attack the gold loan short position, knowing the CBs of the world will try to stop you from succeeding?
