I do realize that the gold price has been weak but i also realize that any trend can reverse. In any case, Goldmines are a speculation and they will never be more than a few % of my stock portfolio.
I also remember a friend of mine who was in gold stocks in 1987 and got killed as well - Goldmine stocks are by no means stock crash resistant.
However, my first investment has been a gold coin in 1980 and I it did very well - I bought a bicycle with the profits.
