The UE10000 set up as a 64 way has about twice the performance of an Intel-based 8-way, and costs about 5 times as much. You do the math... The benefits of the Sun architecture are in systems management and partitioning, not in raw performance. But Jean's comment is also accurate - Wintel and Sun products don't have much market overlap, despite the hype.
