GV,

Why should $2.3 billion in cash be worth less than $2.3 billion in MU stock? I realize that there is an accrued tax liability for the latter and an actual tax liability for the former, but outside of that, there really is no big difference.

We were talking specifically about how you value Intel Capitol, not how you value Intel as a whole. Your argument is that you can easily value Intel Capitol at (a multiple of) book. I'm saying there is no accurate way to arrive at that number.

Second, assuming $2.3 Billion in Micron stock was sold, and that amount was commingled with other Intel funds, you have to penalize the book value of Intel Capitol by that amount. Even though the gross profit margin was 80% +/-, ROI 400% +/-. Is that a fair to lower the valuation of the Intel Capitol division?
