Is "The Thin Blue Line" a movie. If so, I haven't seen it but it sounds like one I should see. I get your point though and the Chicago justice system is pretty famous for being corrupted. So, I almost hesitate to doubt Terrence. Sometimes people say "proven innocent" when the reality was that the criminal got off on a technicality or was released, or got a stay of execution for some other reason than that they were "proven innocent." Since Terrence has a tendency toward over stating things to make a point, I had strong doubts on this one.

If I could believe we were that flawed, I would have no problem challenging the death penalty. Most people oppose it on the unlikely but possible contention that some day a mistake could be made. The latter isn't good enough for me. I would gladly sacrifice my own life as the "mistake" if I thought it would rid the world of the hundreds of murdering rapist scumbags that are aloud to continue.
