your system test of different posted systems should reveal those with avg 7 day moves or so. from one that you trust, say linear trend, you would use those for entry from scan candidates. now you didn't tell me what you were looking for, these scans may not be what you want. the 7 day respose is in agreement with the short term nature of this market. You can find discussion of linear trend in andy's index or by searching.

A quick thing on scans: they are not buy/sell point determiners. they produce candidates for you to apply systems to. DNS in my opinion would be a good system to use. WHY? because it says when a number of indicators have given buy then this must be it. Well if you have a stock going up on higher vol, near or higher than 52 wk high. you don't want something that is looking for oversold.You want a trend confirmer.
