There are many over the decades who were released from death row -- and from prison -- because they were finally able to prove their innocence. Others were not so lucky and innocent, faced alone the hangman's noose, firing squad, electric chair, or glistening needle... I am not contending that all death row inmates are innocent, they aren't, but a percentage of them are, and even if that number were one it would be one too many.
