Frank- Yeah. I don't know why I typed 6 Mb/s? I meant 60 Mb/s or whatever they claim it will do. As you may recall, there is a GTE VDSL test that is being run here and apparently it is working. But I was guessing that they tie in to their analog cable TV headend for content. You see GTE ran coaxial and fiber pipes passing about a million homes with their HFC network. So they had the headend built for that. THEN they did their VDSL test. So in this case, a telco did build the analog/digital headend for TV services. But it's an unusual situation.

And yes, you are correct. I was referring to hundreds of millions to build today's analog headends(wonder how many there are in North America?). And as you say, with a fully digital system, it's a whole new ball game. But that seems so FAR off. In the meantime, what are the telcos going to do with their VDSL networks? Assuming of course, they build them. Any guesses? Or do you feel TV over twisted pair just ain't going to happen? Thanks. -MikeM(From Florida)
