Re, Quad pumped interface. (QRSL) The article confirms we won't see this technology in PC main memory. Which would indicate that to double RIMM bandwidth it will require doubling the channel width. (And adding ~64 pins to the connector). Look's like RIMM's will be constrained to PC800 for some time. JMHO's
