I don't think the pending insider trading trial of the CEO is as much a factor in the financial scrutiny as the widely publicized door slamming episode. That's when the Inprise CEO found out that Corel's product sales and overall financial status bore no resemblance, none, to Bozo the Cowpland's claims in the weeks preceding the release of the quarterly report. So the "lenders" (certainly not investors and I would hesitate to even call them a lending institution) are trying to make sure they can dump millions of unregistered, highly dilutive shares and get their money back. Look, there no reason to suspect the power dive in Corel revenues has stopped. Furthermore, the massive layoff and mass exodus is going to leave cost them a fortune in severance packages while leaving the cupboards bare.
