It seems like the NOK scapegoat would need to be the president, CEO, or director of research and development. Their failure is an offense to the whole country of Finland. The greatest fear is that the Finnish moment on the world economic stage will pass so fast that it seems like the life span of a fruit fly.

Personally, I sort of like to see those underdog Fins doing well. If they fail, it will be due to Pride and the not invented here syndone. Dr. J is as worthy a friend as he is a competent opponent. Dr J is planting a thousand seeds which, when they sprout, will dictate that no one company can cover the waterfront and be totally vertically integrated. The world model that exists in the minds of Fins is passing and soon will become the Dodo bird of wireless history. And if NOK is so arrogant as to cram all that extra equipment required to go fron GSM to W-CDMA down the throats of their customer base, then these customers will grow to hate NOK. "Mutual trust and respect", once lost, may stay lost forever.
