I guess Williams management decided to raise
its profile (it's about time, particularly
if they hope that the investment public will
forgive its horrendous commercials). So, the
July Red Herring contains an interview with
Keith Bailey (``From Gas to Glass'') as part
of its special part on energy (covering
fule cells, deregulated utilities, energy
and bandwidth exchanges). In general, I do not
like the Red Herring (I view it as the propaganda
machine of the VC community, whose purpose is to
hype dubious stocks before pawning them off onto
the unsuspecting public), but given that Barron's
is at the other hand of the spectrum (skeptical
of everything except deep deep value stocks),
Williams must be doing something right to get good
press from both magazines.
