I've always wondered how AMD is actually ever going to meet this target. How much is Intel spending on new fabs and capital over the next few years? How much is AMD? How is AMD going to increase their market share beyond their current 15% (if it's even that high)?

AMD had 16.6% of the market in q4, and 17% in q1. This is with only one fab (Austin). Dresden roughly doubles capacity. We can argue about the effects of Intel's capacity expansion plans or of demand for AMD's products, but AMD will have the capacity to supply about 30% of the 32-bit x86 microprocessor market when Dresden is fully ramped (in 2001).
