And people wonder why modern day listed companies seem to have a flagrant disregard for basic accounting practices and ethics.

As long as the stock is going up, everything is ok! We don't care about what goes on behind the curtain, that is unless someone gets caught, and then we're outraged!

Outraged they were dumb enough to get caught, or didn't know the right person to bribe to keep it quiet.
