<<One of the MOST IMPORTANT facts that you all need to know is that the Kyl
Bill and the Goodlatte Bill appear to be dead in the water. Sources from the
White House have stated that the President would not sign any such bill due
to the harmful effects that the proposed legislation would have on
e-commerce. Furthermore, it has been the government's lack of intervention
that has allowed the Internet to grow freely and successfully. There is no
doubt that there needs to be a system in place for accountability within the
Internet Gaming Industry. But, it appears that the issue will be left more or
less to the states to decide. In New Jersey, legislators are discussing, in
closed session, the possibility of allowing Atlantic City's casinos to go
online. This landmark legislation, if passed, would mark the beginning of an
unbelievable precedent that would more than likely follow suit in Nevada and
in the various states in which casinos operate. The reason? Lawmakers, Casino
owners and government officials are more than aware of the immense amount of
revenue that this would mean to the states and the industry as the new
horizon, known as the Internet, becomes the main mode of commerce,
communication and information tying together the entire world.>>
