Yet another slant on the Telson Nokia partnership is clipped below. I don't think it has ben posted here but apologies if it has:

>> Nokia Partners With Telson To Boost CDMA Market Share

>> In a move designed to help Nokia gain more market share in the Code Division Multiple Access handset arena, the world's largest mobile-phone maker announced a partnership with Korean manufacturer Telson Electronics to manufacture and supply CDMA products for Korea and other markets.

The Korean market accounts for about 40 percent of the world?s CDMA subscribers, but foreign vendors have been unable to crack the market alone. Nokia has been unable to do this despite having the largest mobile-phone manufacturing facility in South Korea.

Samsung Electronics, LGIC and Motorola Inc. are the top three vendors in Korea today. Motorola has gained its market share by partnering with local vendors.

"Our partnership with Telson will give us the impetus to provide the Korean market with the most competitive and localized CDMA products in the fastest and most effective way," said Nigel Litchfield, senior vice president of Nokia Mobile Phones Asia Pacific business. "Additionally, the partnership will allow us to supplement Nokia's own portfolio of advanced CDMA products."

Nokia today has a minimal handset share in the CDMA handset market, but dominates the Global System for Mobile communications and Time Division Multiple Access handset markets. The vendor has struggled to make inroads in the U.S. CDMA handset market as well since the country's largest operator Verizon Wireless is only taking a small number of shipments. <<
