I fail to see how you took my comments as trumpeting the stock price of Brocade. As an investor who does a lot of research and relies on managing my own money rather than taking the words of the 'wise' that work for the large brokerage houses as almighty knowledge, I'm well aware of what comments from analysts like Kumar and Niles can do to my investments in the short term.

Last year, Niles downgraded Intel with concerns and after the initial hit, the stock went from $50 to $80 in a few months time where he then upgraded the stock. Now at $135+ he loves it and is pounding the table (so is Kumar by the way). I should have mentioned this in my previous post to express more clearly where this individual retail investor is coming from when it comes to the 'words of the wise' that guys like Kumar and Niles provide at times. They both have liked and disliked stocks I've invested in as a long term investor at times. They liked Dell and Intel then they disliked Dell and Intel. Now they both like Dell and Intel. Churn, churn, churn.

What's a long term investor to do? Hold right through it all and pay little attention. Let others that are customers of these large brokerage firms churn their accounts with every upgrade and downgrade along the way. My comment was more addressed at Kumar's downgrade in light of the above history I have experienced as an Intel and Dell investor. It had nothing to do with Ancor investors on this board. My goal is to manage my own money and question the 'wise' when appropriate.

As you know, it's no secret that I own shares in Brocade, but I have my own reasons for that based on the research I have done and not what Ashok Kumar has done. I bought shortly after the IPO last year with the intent of holding for quite a few years. However, as a gorilla gamer I wouldn't be doing my job by not following the developments at Ancor.

If every time one of my investments was downgraded the short term result was a similar result of what happened with Intel and Brocade - I would start rejoicing with each subsequent downgrade.
