SCUMbria - Re: " I suspect that Willy and sludge servers will be quite successful in the marketplace."

Willamette will have an 18 month head start over the SludgePumper - and by the time the Sludge is available, Willamette will have migrated to 0.13 microns.

So, customers will be faced with a problem - why adopt a new, unproven 64 bit "SludgePumper" - which will require a totally new Operating System, New Compilers, and New Re-Writes of ALL SOFTWARE to use the 64 bit features..or..

Use the widely available, field proven, high performance, cost-reduced Willamette from Intel that runs ALL CURRENT x86 OS and applications?

Why indeed?
