Of course they do - running a PCI bus at (133/100)*33 MHz is FASTER than running at 33 MHz.

PCI speed is not a major factor in performance. Most devices connected to PCI (like disks) run slower than 33 MHz PCI anyway. The AGP performance on 820 4X is higher than overclocked BX 2X AGP.

The main reason why 820 performs poorly is because of latency issues with DRDRAM. 840 does better because the dual memory ports allow more banks to be kept open, and obtain a higher page hit rate.

840 is a high price to pay to obtain parity with a low cost SDRAM system.
