My stock picks are from the following: Fundamental analysis (self-explanatory), Technical analysis (21 indicators), High number of Analysts Recommending Strong Buy, Price below 40% of 52 week high, good volume, and then I run the neural net against sector news, individual ticker news and market/economy indicators. Then I look for Fund Ownership, who bought/sold what when, and insider buying and selling, both with respect to timing of news and backtest that against stock performance. No, this method would not find an MVSI, with iffy fundamtentals and no triggers for technical or fund moves. However, from my Watch list posted last night, I have the following intraday results as of noon:

CRNR up 5/8
FSCX no buy signal yet
LEH up 2.75
MU up 1.375
SDG up 1.75
TELC up 1
TOS up 2.125
XO up 1.75

Now, these are maximum gains possible before noon today assuming one would wait for a buy signal and sell when the momentum slowed. So an entry and exit trade would have reduced those numbers by about 1/8 on real time and 1/4 on delayed quotes. Having one ticker up 1/8th or quarter or half on volume is interesting, and up 10% in a week is wonderful. However, I look to make at least 5% per day, and to do that I need to perform a rigorous screen of the equities out there. If they don't meet all my criteria, they aren't on the list. Period. I need strong fundamentals, good sales, P/E and growth oriented stocks, and most of all be a good VALUE. CHRS didn't fit this criteria, nor did MVSI. That isn't to say that those stocks did't do well, or wont go up, its just that they are not in my window of opportunity. You asked what I thought of it and I told you. That isnt a condemnation of the ticker or you pick. Its my rough look and conclusion based on my methodology.

I really don't debate one ticker over another, as that is rather pointless. I screen for maximum potential, and move as the intraday signals a reveral or start of a bounce. Don't confuse my strategy for stock picking as a statement of what anyone else's strategy should be. My strategy is just that, mine. Your strategy is no less viable or less important. I post my Watch List, and I encourage everyone to post theirs. The market will test the worth of those methods. I don't expect anyone to buy or sell on my say so. In fact, if they do they need their head examined. I post a watch list for those who want the result of my screens to narrow the universe of tickers for profitable trades. I don't defend my picks, or need others to see how good or lousy they are. The market will to that.

To answer your question, I look for value and opportunity, and there are lots of ways to do that. If your way works for you, take comfort in that and make money. I am not defined by the length of time I hold stocks. I am a speculator, and hold for as long as there is profit, be that a day or week or month or years. Trade well.
