Schmandel: "Benchmarks are of little practical value in the real world" Oh yes they are, when they show 5-times better performance with "real world" applications for hundreds-of-thousands of dollars less than the Sun solution. Schmandel: "We've already established that you don't get out much, so it comes as no surprise that you seem to take benchmarks so seriously." Perhaps you need to take benchmarks MORE seriously. Surely Sun and Oracle do. If they don't improve their cost-to-performace numbers they'll fall behind. Nice resort to name-calling, again.
