In a little lighter vein I offer this very simple poem written for a friend upon her graduation in The Alexander Technique.

The Alexander Technique helps us to access our primary control much as a two year old moves naturally. In accessing anew that control which we were born with and many of us lose due to getting older, habits, accidents, poor use etc. we learn to be present in the moment.

The Alexander Technique was developed by F. M. Alexander of Australia, a Shakespearean Actor, to address the question of why he was hoarse and had difficulty reciting on stage.

The answer was the relationship between his head, neck, throat when he went to recite. Basically, he was choking himself when he spoke---so that he was continuously losing his voice.

Medical doctors did not have the answer so good ole F.M. began self-obversation developing a body of work to help himself and then others.

So, my simple poem----which I scanned originally with a picture of a live pink rose from my garden.

A Rose Is A Moment
A Moment In Time
Like The Rose
We Have Only A Moment
A Moment To Love
A Moment To Be Loved

Like The Rose Awakening
Live Those Moments
Those Moments In Time
