I remain a little confused about whether or not there is an existing implementation of CDMA in 1800 MHZ spectrum (1710 - 1785 MHz paired with 1805 - 1880 MHz).

I have not been able to find any handsets that operate to anything other than one of the two common CDMA air interface standards (Cellular 824-894 MHz - TIA/EIA/IS-95A or PCS 1850-1990 MHz - ANSI J-STD-008).

In addition the presentation by Bill Bold of Qualcomm called "Maximizing the 3G Market: Perspectives on Spectrum Administration and Evolution to 3G" has several allusions to 1800 MHZ spectrum.

* slide 10 (IMT-2000 Standards Compendium) shows GSM 1800 band with comment "Stranded at 2 or 2.5G w/o CDMA overlay"

* Slide 15 (IMT-2000 Spectrum Allocations) shows 1800 MHZ spectrum in Korea allocated to IMT-2000 along with the bands above it.

* slide 19 (3G From Different Paths) has a bullet stating: "1800 MHz CDMA 1X MC overlays in existing GSM spectrum".

I'm wondering if anybody can add to this relative to whether or not there is any implementation of CDMA in 1800 MHZ spectrum?
