ever use registry sweep, found within cleansweep? periodically, it's fun to go in there and see what it turns up. this time registry sweep found 154 invalid registry entries, or unmatched file references. they were all 'greenlighted' for removal, so i said "lose 'em!". of course, cleansweep makes a quick, condensed backup before removing the invalid entries. they'll hang around for like 30 days, then i'll be prompted to see if i want to delete the backup file. the answer by then is always 'yes', but the safety net being that if i need to restore a file back to the registry, i have it backed up.
when i think of all the invalid entries that i've already removed using registry sweep on this newer machine of mine, i can't help but wonder what sort of glitches, ghosts and bugs might have reared their ugly little heads had i not banished them.
