We've characterized the semiconductor equipment sector as a Royalty game, and amat as its King. Market share isn't the issue; there just doesn't appear to be ipr controlled by any one company that is vital to the sector. Amat is a great company and has been a fine investment, but I don't see that it has the genetic potential to be a Gorilla.
