All - Earlier this week there was some discussion about whether or not Citrix's technology is superior to the competition. Well, I just got the latest issue of PC Magazine (July 2000). It includes a benchmark comparison of several thin client solutions. The title is "Thin is In". To be fair, I should point out that GOJO's product and SCO's Tarantella weren't tested. Or at least, they weren't among the products in the report. But that says something in itself. Here's a quote: "Among the Windows-based solutions, Citrix MetaFrame 1.8 for Windows 2000 was the clear winner at lower bandwidths." The tests indicated that at high bandwidths (T1 and above)there wasn't much of a difference between any of the products tested.
