Hey Bill: Ultimatly you may be correct.

Fuel cells run on hydrogen. Eventually all will receive energy in the form of H2, not electricity directly. Yes, this does away with the need for new grids, but then everyone will need a plentiful source of H2. If we use natural gas for example(the best fossil fuel) reforming the natural gas into pure H2 for the fuel cell releases CO2, a greenhouse gas into the atmosphere. Not good.

So, to tell it short: a renewable source of electricity from the solar/stirling gensets could produce all the H2 we need. In fact an area 1/4 the size of Nevada could produce enough H2 to displace ALL, yes I said ALL, the oil needed to make transportation fuels in the USA.

I believe the first use of the Solar/Stirling Genset will be for the generation of cheap energy to put into the grid to meet the demand for Green Renewable Electricity by a person living in an apartment in NY. If you havent noticed the are a number of websites that now will sell you green electricity if you happen to live in a deregulated state like California.

Moores Law has a direct correlation to stirling technology. The more gensets we make the cheaper they will be, the efficiency will improve, etc.

The earth is at the 11th hour. Soon the CO2 in the atmosphere will surpass 400 PPM forcing the earths climate out of balance. All climatic conditions will become more severe: droughts, tornados, cyclones, floods, etc.
