Hey DanW. The biggest reason has been for safety. Most stocks under $14 are very short term trades for me(except when noted as a looong).
In this market I've found it easier and less risky to trade when I've added the bigger cap stocks like CMGI, ICGE, MCOM, etc. to my daily trading mix. (That and the fact that my main trading account is now with DATEK - no OTC)
I'm still looking at the penny stocks, etc, but for now I'm almost exclusively trading marginable stocks above $5. As soon as the penny stocks show better stability, I'll trade them a bit more. For now though the OTC market forces you to hold your stocks longer, with riskier profits (at least for the methods I use for trading selections).
