Companies Will Collaborate On Developing and Marketing Wireless
Connectivity Solutions for Supply Chain Management Markets

Socket Communications Inc. (OTC: Bulletin Board SCKT; Pacific
Stock Exchange SOK) and Intermec Technologies Corp.(NYSE:UNA), a
global leader in automated data collection and mobile computing
systems, today announced an agreement to provide the supply chain
management market with connectivity solutions that incorporate
Bluetooth(TM) wireless technology.
Under the terms of the agreement, Intermec will purchase and
license Socket's Bluetooth products and technology for use in
Intermec's mobile computing products. In addition, Intermec will sell
Socket's Battery Friendly(R) line of CompactFlash plug-in cards for
enhancing connectivity between mobile computers. Both companies will
work together to facilitate the interoperability of future
Bluetooth-enabled devices used in supply chain management
applications.
Bluetooth technology enables users of portable computing devices
to easily exchange information via a wireless Personal Area Network
(PAN). The technology will also eliminate cumbersome cables and wires
that connect mobile computers to peripheral devices such as scanners
and printers.
