Hornsby played first and was excellent, he even had a
guitarist for the 1st time since the Range! Since it
was part of the JVC jazz fest he played more jazzy
than usual, I really enjoyed him. Maceo Parker wasn't
bad but I didn't like him. He's kinda like a cross
between James Brown and Louie Armstrong. Their overall
sound was good but ALL the solos on every instrument
were disappointing IMO. I left after 4 songs. After the
1st or 2nd song Maceo announced that Prince would be
joining him later in the set. My friend stayed and saw
Prince. He said Prince is a great keyboardist but has
a lot more attitude than anyone one he's ever seen by a
long shot. BTW Iko's very upset that beach won't allow her
to attend Dylan/Zimmy even though GDTS sent her tickets.
She's on the phone now trying to find a lawyer :)
