While the result seems to be terrific for Q499, there is
something puzzling.

As you have noticed, they cannot sell all the Athlon they can make despite of the demand(looks at the scarcity for Cumine). If we take the words of Intel's management as well as PB, Cumine is still ramping nicely. It could be quite possible that by early Q2, the supply/demand equation will be reversed with lots of Cumine flooding the market.

I am itching to buy some LEAPS PUT for AMD and hoping it will drop back to the 20s sometimes in Q3/Q4.

Judging from the Q4 1998 and Q4 1999 result, it seems that AMD can only make profit when Intel has problem suppling enough CPUs to the market.
