"If you had to sell MIPS or SGI to raise some cash which would you sell?"

That's a tricky one. I originally had a small SGI position with hopes of a turnaround. I thought it was a decent value partly because of its holdings in MIPS and VA Linux. After the spinnoff was announced, SGI got in the $6's and I bought more specifically to get MIPS. Now I think SGI is cheap enough to keep as a possible buyout candidate or a turnaround story. Don't think they will just flat out go out of business. I'm being a bit long winded about this, but here's my answer. Since I DON'T have to sell either position I will say that I like MIPS better, BUT if I HAD to sell a position it would probably be MIPS because it would generate more $ (proportionately).
