and you're confusing "slight of hand" with "sleight of hand"; sleight means "cunning or craft used in deceiving", and sleight of hand is defined as "skill with the hands, especially in confusing or deceiving onlookers, as in doing magic tricks" and also "a trick or tricks thus performed". (thanks to Webster's New World Dictionary, 3rd College Edition, copyright 1988)
Although maybe there's something to your choice of words - slight is defined as, among other things, "frail, fragile, or having little weight, strength, substance or significance..." or "to do carelessly or poorly" or "to treat with disrespect or indifference" or "to treat as unimportant". Same source - Webster's NWD3CE.
